Following her owner and his family participating in the traditional christening ceremony, the first project from Antonini Navi lowered into the water. Previously known as an Antonini Navi Seamore 34 yacht, the yacht Matilde 7 is the first of what the Italian builder believes will be several similar projects to come.
Commissioned to let her owner and his family see more while cruising, the 110-footer (33.5-meter) is also entirely custom. She bears a steel hull, looking much like a sport yacht while prioritizing leisurely travel. The design and features resulted from the family having spent several seasons chartering. The owner of the yacht Matilde 7 chose Antonini Navi for its Italian roots. It’s a division of the commercial builder Gruppo Antonini, dating to 1943. “The launch of the Seamore 34 achieves a significant milestone for our family, on a journey we began several years ago,” explains Simone Antonini, the yard’s founder and CEO, who runs the company with his son, Walter, as the general director. They further have a co-founder, Aldo Manna, who also serves as sales manager. “We have positioned ourselves as a credible and capable alternative to other steel yacht builders working in this category,” he says.

Besides her length being particularly noteworthy, the yacht Matilde 7 has ample interior space. In fact, the family has more than 1,615 square feet (150 square meters) of living areas on the main deck. They flow from the open aft deck to the bright enclosed areas. Additionally, sliding glass doors between interior and exterior make the conversation and dining areas feel more welcoming. Although the shipyard isn’t revealing full details about the rooms, it does say that the owner and Hot Lab created a low-key yet still-stylish ambience. In fact, it says, classic and contemporary design cues set the scene. Materials like antiqued glass surfaces, for example, pastel-lacquered panels, and ribbed surfaces all reflect light and figuratively open up the rooms.
Antonini Navi intends to take the megayacht to the upcoming fall boat shows. Between her sporty styling, the overall length, and the widely appealing lifestyle amenities, the builder was inspired to create a semi-custom series. Hulls two and three are currently under construction, with the second hull farther along in development. Antonini Navi has other designs in the works, too, which it indicates it will reveal during the boat shows.
