C’mon, admit it: Whether you’re an owner, a crewmember, or even the marketing director for a shipyard, you enjoy indulging in the ultimate spectator sport, yacht spotting. For years now the summertime spot for this has been the French Riviera; and while it’s still the place to see and be seen, a few other cities are seemingly stepping up the competition.
Case in point, Stockholm. When Rising Sun and Pelorus hit the town a few years ago, it seemed sheer coincidence. But within the past few weeks, notable cruisers such as Mystic, Seaflower, Coy-Koi, and Lone Ranger have pulled into this Scandinavian city–and just within the past few days, Putty VI (ex-Turmoil), Mylin IV (above), and Fortunate Sun arrived.
Could Stockholm be the “new” Riviera? Maybe. Owners certainly seem to be seeking different shores.
