Seemingly every megayacht owner wants a kickin’ stereo system these days, but the trouble is, how do you incorporate the tower speakers and other oddly shaped accessories without drawing too much attention to them? The resolution: Do it the way Sunseeker and the 30-something owner of M4, the yard’s newest 37M yacht, did.
Displayed at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show the past few days, M4 cleverly conceals the Bang & Olufsen tower-type speakers in specially built wall panels (photographed here by my colleague Kim Kavin). The chocolate-brown leather on the walls was chosen purposely to further the blending effect. Meanwhile, silver-accented, orb-like speakers are installed overhead but are low profile enough to not draw your attention. In fact, when a Sunseeker rep pointed them out to me, I remarked that I hadn’t even noticed them and probably would have assumed they were art elements if I did happen to glance up; they were just that unobtrusive.
Of course, M4 isn’t all about speakers. Here’s a quick tour of some other spots onboard (though please forgive my shaky camera work at the end).
