Brandaris Yachts may not be a familiar name to most American yacht buyers, but the Dutch builder has been in business since 1934. Also known as ‘ti Wije Watersport, it currently specializes in runabouts and tenders for the megayacht market. In fact, earlier this year it launched the Brandaris Q52, featuring naval architecture and interior design from Vripack.
A real silver streak, the 16-meter (52’5”) Q52 is capable of a reported 40-knot top end, thanks to twin 600-hp Cummins engines. They’re coupled to Zeus pod drives, making for a more maneuverable boat, too. Zeus drives have been getting more attention in the larger production-boat market, so it’s unusual to see a tender featuring them. Guests can get a chance to learn about them while onboard if they so wish, thanks to three helm seats and a leaning post at the helm.
Also unlike most tenders, the Q52 can be an overnighter. Two staterooms (one fitted with twin beds) accommodate four people, who share a head. A small galley allows for meals on the hook, too.
Further highlights include a good-size sunbathing area, a pop-up hot tub, a cockpit wetbar, and Esthec flooring in the cockpit and on the swim platform.
The demo version of the Brandaris Q52 is available for sale for €1.15 million (approximately $1.52 million), excluding VAT.
