Sometimes megayachts grow because of a builder’s decision, not an owner’s. Such is the case with the Columbus 181 from Columbus Yacht. Started on spec and still available for customization, she’s now being called the Columbus 200 Classic.
At an LOA of 197 feet (60 meters), the Columbus 200 Classic will still look much like she would have as the Columbus 181, shown above. The megayacht will also meet RINA classification and comply with MCA requirements, but more important, Columbus Yacht is striving to have her achieve RINA Green Star Plus notation.
Interested buyers should note that the engineering package is already completed, leaving just the interior to arrange. The illustrations here are provided to potential clients as suggested starting points. Also suggested are six staterooms that can accommodate 14. Naturally, these include a full-beam master suite on the main deck, but there’s also a VIP on the upper deck. Given the popularity of beach clubs these days, Columbus Yacht has also equipped the Columbus 200 Classic with one, as shown below. An elevator will make it easier for everyone to access the various decks.
Performance-wise, the Columbus 200 Classic is expected to reach a top speed of 17 knots and a cruise speed of 16 knots with twin MTU 16V 4000M60 engines.
The central agency for the Columbus 200 Classic, set for delivery in 2013, is held by Burgess. Asking price: €32 million ($44.2 million).
