The sporty styling of Tò-Kalòn (pronounced “tow-kah-lon”) is matched by an equally sporty 23½-knot cruise. Considering the yacht, delivered by Burger Boat Company in 2008, measures 101 feet (31 meters), it’s all the more impressive. Tò-Kalòn was commissioned by an American couple who have taken the helm of a variety of yachts up to the 80-foot range. Being a fully custom yacht, Tò-Kalòn bears styling by Cor D Rover, marking the firm’s first collaboration with Burger. Inside, there are a number of stunning touches. Sapele and sapele pommele, with rich reddish tones, adorn the walls from the saloon to the staterooms. An open spiral staircase, crafted from sapele as well, twists through the yacht on up to the skylounge. Full-height windows adjacent to it and in the dining area were well ahead of the current trend.
As you watch this video, take special note of the dome in the skylounge. It was painted to a design created by the owners’ daughter, embracing Tò-Kalòn’s name and spirit.
