Big yachts boasting big turns of speed are becoming more of a specialty for Princess Yachts. The UK builder has unveiled its latest model, the 75 Motor Yacht, which should be capable of speeds in the mid-30-knot range.
You get a choice of three engine packages to make those speeds happen. Measuring 74 feet LOA (22.64 meters) excluding the bow pulpit, the yacht can be powered by twin MAN V12 1650s, twin MAN V12 1800s, or twin Caterpillar C32As. The first MAN package is expected to push the yacht to a top end of 31 to 33 knots. The second MAN package: 34 to 36 knots. As for the Cats, anticipate 32 to 34 knots. (All speed predictions are at half load, with no additional gear onboard, according to Princess.)
While you’re zipping along the coast or hopping from island to island, the 75 Motor Yacht should have no issue accessing skinny waters. Draft is 5’8″ (1.76 meters). She should also keep you and your friends plenty entertained. Turn the saloon into an indoor-outdoor area by keeping the sliding glass doors open. Join the captain at the seating to each side of the upper helm to learn a thing or two about navigation. Stretch out on the aft sunpad on the flying bridge, and when you get to your destination, grab a drink from the nearby bar. Not enough fun? No problem. The Princess 75 Motor Yacht can feature a hot tub or tender and crane up on this deck.
Another spot sure to be a favorite for gathering together: the foredeck. Princess has created an intimate U-shape seating and sunning area here.
Inside, the Princess 75 Motor Yacht promises to be comfortable, given a nearly 19-foot (5.76-meter) beam. All staterooms (three guests and the master) are below decks, with the owner’s stateroom accessible via a private stairway and lobby. A further nice touch, for everyone to enjoy: a full-height window on the main deck to port of the dining area. If you enjoy a relaxed relationship with your crew, you’ll also like how sliding glass separates the galley from the dining area; it’s not fully walled off.
Speaking of crew, the Princess 75 Motor Yacht accommodates two people in one cabin, though you can opt for an extra berth if needed.
