At any given refit and repair yard, various maritime-support services work under the same roof, as subcontractors. Eight businesses operating at STP Palma have banded together in a way to make it easier for potential and current customers to find them. They’ve “christened” the building in which they’re based The North Dock Building.
The eight businesses in The North Dock Building are:
- Anicla, a paint and coating supplier
- De Cabo, providing painting, polishing, and antifouling
- Palmawatch, handling refit, repair, and haul-outs
- IBS, a specialist in electrics and electronics
- Undercover, which makes covers, shrink wrap, and more
- Trappmann, an upholstery and interiors firm
- Servicios Náuticos Integrados, yet another painting and anti-fouling firm
- Munditubo, providing scaffolding and coverings.
So why name their building? It lends the collective a common identity. Many of these same companies work on the same projects. In fact, some of The North Dock Building companies have spent two decades refitting and repairing yachts in Palma.
For visiting captains and project managers, finding The North Dock Building is easy. Four prominent signs around STP Palma point the way. It’s located at the northern end of the property. It’s adjacent to the 700-ton TraveLift and in proximity to berthing space where work takes place.
