Brazil is home to avid watersports enthusiasts, plus a megayacht shipyard. MCP Yachts recently started construction of the 92.5 Raised Pilothouse, its latest project.
If you don’t know the builder, it opened its doors in the late 1980s. Offerings are all in the megayacht range, in metal. A 140-footer is MCP Yachts’ largest so far. Clients and collaborative partners (design firms) come from across the globe.
The MCP 92.5 Raised Pilothouse bears naval architecture, styling, and interior design all from in house. She’s also all aluminum. Despite the name, the 92.5 Raised Pilothouse doesn’t measure 92’5”, but rather 93’10”. Regardless, the yard plans appeal to a broad range of buyers, due to the elevated wheelhouse and overall sporty looks.
The pledged performance should appeal, too. MCP Yachts has three Caterpillar engine packages for the 92.5 Raised Pilothouse. Depending on which a customer chooses, top speed should be between 17 and 24 knots. Cruising speed should range from 15 to 21 knots, too. Fuel economy is additionally noteworthy. MCP Yachts expects about a 16-gph fuel burn at 10.6 knots with the lowest-horsepower package, 1,015 hp. It’s set to be about 20 gph at that speed with the highest horsepower, 1,825 hp.
MCP Yachts offers variety in interior configuration for the 92.5 Raised Pilothouse, too. One option falls in line with what most megayachts of this LOA have. It’s three guest staterooms accompanying the master stateroom. You can opt for either four or five guest cabins alternately. (Keep in mind, though, that even with a 23’5” beam, the five-cabin layout does significantly shrink floorspace.) The twin cabins can also have pullmans, bringing maximum passenger capacity to 14. Whatever the decision, the master stateroom is on the main deck, with the en suite head and dressing area down a few steps.
Being built to Lloyd’s classification, the yacht is meant to be run by four crew. Their cabins are aft of the engine room. Their deck access comes along the port side, to separate crew and guest traffic.
MCP Yachts has not released the launch date for the yacht, nor the destination.
