Tender specialist Invictus Yacht is kicking off 2017 with a cabin-equipped model, the 280CX.
Making its debut at the Boot Düsseldorf show in late January, the 280CX is the first offering in the new CX series, too. It’s the same length as the Invictus 280SX, therefore measuring 28’5”. Several aspects, in fact, are identical. The 280CX uses the same hull design as its sister, and promises the same performance. That translates to a wind-in-your-hair top speed of 39 knots and a still-considerable cruising speed of 21 knots. Your captain will appreciate how the design team paid attention to ergonomics in creating the helm.
With a beam of 8’9”, the tender is also meant to carry eight passengers. The 280CX provides a cozy cabin for flexibility. It allows respite from the sun, plus refreshments. Invictus Yacht is outfitting the cabin with a settee that converts to a double berth. The company is also including a refrigerator and a mobile bar. Further to keep guests comfortable, the cabin has a head, with full standing headroom. Overall, expect the cabin to have a higher-than-usual level of finish. Invictus Yachts creates its craft with Christian Grande DesignWorks, which assists other Italian brands like Cranchi.
Outside, the 280CX has a sunning area aft that’s larger than the one on the 280SX. Guests seated around the central dinette don’t need to head inside the cabin to escape the sun if they’ve had enough. A bimini deploys from a bow locker. Also handy is the convertible nature of the helm seat. It’s a stand-up configuration that can transform to accompany and expand the dinette seating.
We’ll share photos of the finished boat when it debuts at Boot Düsseldorf. For now, Invictus Yacht has only released teaser renderings.
