The last days of May saw an important milestone for Custom Line. That’s when hull number three of the 121-foot Navetta 37 series left her construction shed. More significant, though, the megayacht marked the first Navetta 37 entirely built within the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy.
That facility used to bear the brand name CRN, serving just its customers. To be clear, all CRN builds still take shape there. However, in recent years, CRN’s sister brands, including Riva and Pershing, began adding far bigger projects, in metal. Therefore, the Ferretti Group decided to concentrate all steel and aluminum megayacht construction for all of its brands in Ancona. Simultaneously, it decided to shift all of Custom Line’s composite construction there. Despite the materials difference, Custom Line is fully focused on 92-foot-plus (28-meter-plus) projects. After renovating the site to handle the mix, the Ferretti Group renamed it, last year.
Due to client confidentiality, Custom Line cannot disclose many details about the new launch. Among the few facts it can share, this was one of the first units sold when the Navetta 37 still existed solely on paper. In addition, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Group’s chef commercial officer, says, “The end market, the Middle East, is just as important, as it is a key area for our business.” Several Navetta models belong to buyers in the region, in fact.
Generally speaking, the Navetta 37 is for yacht owners who enjoy traditional cruising, and traditional layouts. The master suite sits on the main deck, while eight guests get four cabins below. A sliding-glass door to starboard in the saloon and dining areas creates a more alfresco-oriented atmosphere. Similarly, nearly floor-to-ceiling glass on the main and upper decks creates a more enjoyable atmosphere. (For a sense of what the end result is like, see our Navetta 37 gallery.)
While Custom Line puts the finishing touches on this project, two additional Navetta 37s are in build. Furthermore, seven other Navettas are under construction. These include hull number one for the Navetta 42, the flagship. She debuts next year.
