Nearly a dozen Dutch-built superyachts in nearly six minutes. That’s what you’ll see in this video, from the yachting enthusiasts of the social media site Dutch Yachting. What’s particularly fascinating is that the footage represents just the action occurring in the first half of this year.
That first half started with a bang, however. January saw Black Pearl slip into view at Oceanco. At 350 feet (106.8 meters), this sailing superyacht strikes quite the imposing profile. Another imposing-looking sailing superyacht, Ngoni, appeared just weeks later at Royal Huisman. Though smaller at an LOA of 190 feet (58 meters), she promises to leave no less of a powerful impression at sea. This is, after all, the yacht whose owner instructed the shipyard, “Build me a beast.”
Overall, it’s been a yearful of Dutch-built superyachts making their debuts. Below, you get to see the likes of Jubilee at Oceanco, project Vertigo (now Faith) at Feadship, and Home (pictured at top) at Heesen, among others. Altogether, it’s nearly six minutes showcasing three sailing yachts and eight motoryachts.
What occurred from August onward is equally worth noting. Two more launches took place at Heesen, for example. The same shipyard delivered Laurentia. Over at Feadship, Samaya splashed, and Femke departed in her owner’s hands. Amels, meanwhile, landed a buyer for the Damen Yacht Support Vessel New Frontiers, completed in September. Finally, Mulder Shipyard premiered its biggest boat to date, Delta One, at the Monaco Yacht Show, following sea trials over the summer.
While the Dutch Yachting team does have a second video, capturing the second half of the year, it mostly features megayachts seeking service in The Netherlands. If you’re curious as to who ventured where, check out the team’s YouTube channel.
