The uppermost end of the megayacht market is getting a lot of attention these days. However, there’s still plenty going on in the “small” superyacht size range. AvA Yachts is among the builders addressing buyers of these craft. With a few deliveries already, it’s seeking broader appeal with the spec-built Natalya 86. This entirely aluminum 86-footer (26.2-meter) can be delivered with tailored touches before the end of 2018. In fact, Yacht & Villa, the central agent for the Natalya 86, says AvA Yachts can do so within eight months of contract.
Based in Antalya, Turkey, AvA Yachts builds semi-custom and fully custom motoryachts and sailing yachts. It opened its doors in 2005 initially as a design and engineering company. Yacht construction came several years later, with the focus on competitive pricing due to being in Turkey. Besides building yachts, it also builds passenger ships and traditional Turkish gulets. AvA Yachts specializes in fiberglass, aluminum, and steel construction, plus still uses wood for some special projects. In addition, it handles nearly every aspect of the build in house, including the creation of furnishings.
AvA Yachts conceived the Natalya 86 as a long-range motoryacht for an owner’s party of eight. In keeping with the more intimate size and onboard experience, four crew handle operations. As for the long range, twin 330-hp Cummins diesels should allow venturing 2,700 nautical miles at 8 to 10 knots. Top speed, meanwhile, is 15 knots. Cummins may be a marine brand rarely found in the megayacht realm, but its engines have a reputation as workhorses. As to where they can take you aboard the Natalya 86, the relatively shallow draft brings various places into play. The yacht draws just 3’6” (1.1 meters).
Since the interior is not yet in place, you can select woods, stones, and more. To keep the 18-foot (5.65-meter) beam feeling airy, consider choosing satin-finished oak, the shipyard’s initial idea. Regardless, you have a full-beam master at your disposal. Friends and family get two full-beam cabins as well as a double cabin. You all get a sauna inside the 108-square-foot (10-square-meter) lazarette, too.
The Natalya 86 in build is hull number one of a semi-custom series. Asking price: €2.65 million ($3.14 million at press time) for the completed yacht.
