The largest lamp glass body ever hand-blown in the UK adorns this one-off design, called Blaze. Blaze is by Alexander Joseph, a designer and manufacturer specializing in luxurious cordless table lamps. The company already has a reach into fine homes and is expanding into yachting.
Blaze features a handmade gold silk lampshade, along with 24-carat-gold plating on the base, light fittings, and lampshade ring. The cobalt blue glass body contains 24-carat gold, too. Furthermore, it took the designer 22 tries over six months to perfect the glass size and shape the way he wanted. Fully assembled, the lamp stands about 2’5” (0.75 meter) high, more than what is visible in the photo above. Additionally, it weighs more than 26 pounds (12 kilograms). No concerns, therefore, about it tipping over on your yacht. All of this explains the £20,000 (about $25,600) price tag.

In addition, we inform you about a 230-footer (70-meter) nearing the start of construction at a still-undisclosed shipyard. However, we do tell you about some special features aboard, courtesy of Nauta Design, including a “Nemo window” in her swim platform.
