“L” Is for Luxury: Onda 321L Tender Oozes Class

O’Ptasia is one of the largest private yachts in the world, coming in at 279 feet (85 meters). Her interior is replete with neutral creams and greys, along with richly grained woods. With such a sophisticated, serene atmosphere, she deserved an equally sophisticated-looking limo tender. Her owner got it in hull number one of the Onda 321L line, from Onda Tenders.

Based in Greece, Onda has three series so far, including the center console Onda 331GT. Like the other lines, the 321L has styling and naval architecture by Mannerfelt Design Team. Based in Scandinavia, the design studio has experience with offshore racing. Similarly fast, the new tender boasts a reported maximum speed of 42 knots, with twin 220-hp Volvo Pentas. It’s thanks to the design studio giving her a two-step, deep-V hull, plus lightweight composite construction. In addition, Onda Tenders asserts that the ride is smooth. “It is as if a limousine was crossed with a Ferrari,” says George Riginos, the company’s CEO.

Ted Mannerfelt of the design studio says it was equally important to ensure comfort in other ways. Specifically, he says her side foam fenders are bigger than those of similar tenders. “It ensures solid protection and easy docking,” he explains.

While O’Ptasia’s owner appreciates this comfort, the creature comforts were critical, too. Ten guests can sit on the two facing settees inside the Onda 321L. They’re hand-stitched leather. The overall color scheme matches that of the mothership as well, with subdued beige and grey. In addition, guests can enjoy a welcome glass of champagne, thanks to a special cooler. Alternately, to warm them up on a chilly evening, an espresso maker is aboard. Music, via the latest in entertainment systems, makes the journey all the more enjoyable. The Onda 321L keeps everyone protected from weather in here as well, of course.
