Her full specifications list is still under final review. But Codecasa anticipates laying the keel for this unusual-looking megayacht within the first half of this year. Fulvio Codecasa, head of Codecasa, designed her himself, to challenge conventional thinking. The Codecasa Jet 2020 is a 230-footer (70-meter) meant to show the sea and sky aren’t limited to meeting on the horizon.
To really hit that point home, the Codecasa Jet 2020 incorporates and re-interprets styling cues common to large aircraft. For example, the yacht’s bow mimics the shape of the nose of an airplane, including its cockpit. In addition, a hidden section here opens to yield access to anchoring gear. Amidships, meanwhile, the styling of the Codecasa Jet 2020 resembles an airplane’s fuselage. In addition, the way the sundeck extends upwards aft echoes an aircraft’s tail. Finally, in a clever bit of camouflage, the vertical structure forward hides the radars, much like an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) plane.
In terms of creature comforts, the Codecasa Jet 2020 has enviable spaces. Again, specifications are not yet final, but the sundeck should be easily 66 feet (20 meters) long by 33 feet (10 meters) wide. Plenty of sunbathing space, along with a sunken pool, will keep owners and guests relaxed all day. So, too, will they stay relaxed in the beach club. Conveniently, an elevator connects the beach club to the glass-rimmed skylounge. The glass rises about 10 feet (3 meters) high. Here, guests can enjoy formal dining as well as TV programs or simply good conversation.
To some degree, the Codecasa Jet 2020 follows yachting tradition. For instance, guests get four staterooms below decks. Crew cabins go below decks, too. Also as you might expect, the captain’s cabin sits aft of the wheelhouse. And, of course, the owners get a master suite occupying the full forward area of the main deck.
