With a length of 82’8″ (25.25 meters), the Astondoa AS8 will become the Spanish shipyard’s largest Flybridge motoryacht when she launches in the second half of this year. What’s more, her fast performance will make cruising enthusiasts feel as if they’re on a speedboat.
In keeping with traditional flying-bridge designs, the Astondoa AS8 primarily dedicates the upper deck to relaxation. Loose lounges can sit aft, letting guests watch their point of departure disappear in the megayacht’s wake. Meanwhile, dining takes place beneath the louvered hardtop, in proximity to the helm fully forward. This way, owners and guests can feel part of the action. A nice twist, though, appears aft on the main deck. The aft bulkhead is glass, plus settees face aft.
Two customers have already signed contracts for the first two hulls. While Astondoa is not yet revealing what special design requests the clients have made, each megayacht is semi-custom. The shipyard provides a little inspiration for the master stateroom, for example, by proposing two layout options. In one, illustrated above, the headboard doubles as a divider between the sleeping area and the en suite bath. In the other, the stateroom still has an open concept, but the bed rests against the aft bulkhead, the opposite end of the suite from the bath.
With 19’8” (6.04 meters) of beam and three additional guest staterooms, the Astondoa AS8 has enough room for you to entertain a handful of friends and family. Your entire party will enjoy the abundant sunlight streaming in through the nearly full-height main-deck ports. Additionally, the main deck looks and feels larger, due to having an open concept. This keeps the ambience more relaxed, too, letting guests chat easily with the chef. (Two crew cabins are aboard.)
To keep smiles on everyone’s faces, the Astondoa AS8 promises a top speed of 32 knots with the standard MAN power package. It’s a pair of 1,600-hp V12. Optionally, you can select 1,900-hp MAN V12s.
