The B Series for CL Yachts has a new flagship in the water. The CLB88, just shy of 89 feet (27 meters), comes less than a year after the builder revealed plans for her.
Featuring a carbon fiber composite hull in compliance with RINA construction standards, the 88’11” megayacht has classic motoryacht looks along with modern, sporty flair. CL Yachts intends to appeal to families seeking fun adventures. In fact, the CLB88’s overall design, from Jozeph Forakis, received a Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design before the yacht even launched.
The open-plan main-deck layout, which each buyer can personalize, complies with modern tastes. It invites easy flow from the aft-deck doors straight through to the country kitchen. It affords panoramic views, too, thanks to big ports. The same is true up one level in the wheelhouse, where an observation settee accompanies the helm. (On a related note, a wetbar just aft keeps both the captain and guests refreshed.) For a change of pace, the main-deck or upper-deck doors can stay open, for an indoor-outdoor feel.
With all four staterooms below decks, owners and guests can enjoy some peace and quiet after playing all day on the water. Of course, the master stateroom makes the most of the 22’6” (6.9-meter) beam. Before retiring for the night, though, guests might want to enjoy an evening drink in the bow’s cozy seating/dining area, counting stars.
With an expected top speed of 25 knots, the CLB88 will make her North American debut at the Fort Lauderdale show in October. You don’t have to wait that long, however, to experience the spaces. You can take a 360-degree virtual tour on CL Yachts’ own website.
