More than 2 million man-hours went into the construction of Luminosity, one of the largest megayachts from Benetti. Considering she measures 353 feet (107.6 meters) in length, it does not come as a surprise. With a volume upwards of 5,800 gross tons, too, she imparts a sense of space like few other yachts do. These are just some of the reasons why the recently listed yacht has attracted a lot of attention. Her equally attention-getting interior design, well teased in this video.
Luminosity previously was known as both Zoza and her hull number, FB 272. Yachts of such magnitude rarely have owners as hands-on as hers. However, he was truly actively involved in nearly every single step of her conceptualization and completion. Particularly noteworthy, he made some of the technical specification decisions himself, drawing upon extensive ownership experience.
Boasting about 8,730 square feet (811 square meters) of floor-to-ceiling glass, Luminosity brings in an amazing amount of natural light. Of course, that makes the experience for the 27 guests all the more relaxing and enjoyable. It further enhances an already bright ambiance, in which light-toned, naturally finished wood soles stretch from saloons to staterooms.
Speaking of light, Luminosity impresses the senses in yet another extraordinary way. In some all-too-brief glimpses above, you get to see interactive video panels put on quite the visual show along the stairway. There are so many panels, in fact, that they stretch a grand total of 1,214 feet (370 meters) up and along the walls. They show natural scenes, complementing the environment in which Luminosity operates.
The owner and Zaniz Interiors did not stop there with the visual feasts. Cast your eyes upon the 264 magnolia flowers attached to the main saloon’s wall. Cast your eyes, too, on how they close and open at the slightest touch.
Striking detail after detail characterizes Luminosity. Keep a look out for words from Herman Melville’s great work Moby Dick, engraved on pillars. Then reflect on how artisans carved a single block of Florentine marble for the custom hydromassage tub in the master suite. Ultimately, you may find yourself rewatching the video to see even more special features.
Luminosity is for sale with Fraser Yachts for $250 million.
