With a volume exceeding 1,600 gross tons, the Bilgin 243 marked a major milestone on January 8. She switched from her construction hall to her finishing hall, where she’ll wrap up work for delivery in 2024.
The steel-and-aluminum megayacht, measuring 241’5” (73.6 meters), started on spec at Bilgin Yachts. She’s still available for sale, too. The shipyard chose to build on spec due to successfully attracting customers for larger projects like Tatiana, a Bilgin 263.
In fact, the Bilgin 243 has a suggested general arrangement similar to that of the 263. Therefore, you can have an expansive, main-deck master suite, and an equally expansive, 16-person dining area on that deck. Amid the five decks in all, you can have between five and nine staterooms. Currently, Bilgin Yachts plans to outfit the yacht with seven, including the master. Consequently, that will put two VIPs on the main deck and four staterooms below. Additionally, it will situate the owners’ suite on the upper deck, essentially occupying the full length. It will have a private alfresco area containing a hot tub, too. If you’re curious as to how nine staterooms would work, imagine two cabins complementing the master suite, thereby slightly reducing the owners’ apartment-like area.

Regardless of how buyers tailor the interior, Unique Yacht Design and Bilgin Yachts have engineered the yacht for global cruising. They anticipate a top speed of 17½ knots and a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles when cruising at half load at 12 knots. Propulsion comes from twin traditional MTU diesel engines.
Further regardless of design, no doubt owners will want to relax in a beach club. So far, the build and design teams plan it to encompass 538 square feet (50 square meters). Add in a tender garage, a gym, a sauna, and other creature comforts, plus a beam of 43 feet (13.15 meters), and the Bilgin 243 has a lot of attractive features.
Emrecan Özgün, CEO and founder of Unique Yacht Design, sums her up this way. “We designed the Bilgin 74M focusing on the large, spacious structures that characterize a boat of this size, trying to develop them to perfection, rather than trying to fit ‘a little bit of everything.’”
