Repeat customers are often the best customers, with the parties on both sides of the contract table thoroughly enjoying the process. That’s clearly the case with the owners of Julianne, the first Outer Reef 900. Happy emotions were high, as you’ll see, during the christening ceremony at the just-concluded Palm Beach International Boat Show.
The top of the line in Outer Reef’s Classic series of motoryachts, the Outer Reef 900 measures 89 feet (27.18 meters). Having enjoyed cruising aboard multiple yachts, these owners originally commissioned an Outer Reef 700, in 2019. However, with a growing family, they soon realized they wanted and needed more space. Therefore, together with the shipyard’s team, they custom-created this particular model. In fact, in the video, you’ll hear Outer Reef’s CEO, Jeff Druek, warmly recall how the idea sprang from a surprise announcement at the Fort Lauderdale show in 2019.
You’ll hear, too, how Outer Reef accommodated their request for six—yes, six—staterooms. In viewing the general arrangement, most people would conclude she actually has four staterooms, plus two aft crew cabins. Although those two cabins can house crew, the owners of Julianne take the wheel themselves. Add in far more custom touches than any other build in the brand’s history, and the Outer Reef 900 shows just what the yard will do for clients.
With family, friends, and fellow Outer Reef owners at the christening, the owners of Julianne shared design and build stories. Following the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle, they continued the celebration toward evening.
Look for Julianne to put her long range to good use. She should reach 3,000 nautical miles at just shy of 9 knots. Her top speed, meanwhile, is a healthy 24 knots with her twin 750-hp John Deere diesels.
