This second month of 2023 also marks the second launch of 2023 for Baglietto, with the megayacht’s enthusiastic owners on hand for the festivities. The open-style Baglietto yacht Francesca II lowered into the water with a hail of colorful confetti marking the occasion.
The shipyard announced the project in 2021, as an unnamed Baglietto 41m Superfast open yacht. Few details were available, though, such as the owners choosing a champagne hull color and fast speeds. In fact, Baglietto anticipated that the megayacht would top out at 33 knots and cruise at 28 knots. The shipyard and naval architect Andrea Bacigalupo still expect her triple MTU and waterjet propulsion package to produce those speeds come sea trials. She features all-aluminum construction and follows in the footsteps of other speedy deliveries, “a segment in which Baglietto has always strongly believed,” notes the yard’s CCO, Fabio Ermetto.
The yacht Francesca II, a.k.a. Baglietto hull 10242, generally follows in the styling and interior-design footsteps of fast open projects, too. For instance, fast opens typically devote the main deck entirely to entertainment and relaxation. The owners of Francesca II do have the main saloon and dining area in an open floorplan here. But, they commissioned the yacht as a custom contract. They therefore collaborated closely with Francesco Paszkowski Design on all aspects. The Italian studio is responsible for interior design, with Margherita Casprini, as well as styling.

Guests who eventually cruise aboard can anticipate finding all staterooms below decks. They can choose among two twin cabins whose beds can slide together, and a VIP. Full-height windows characterize the entire main deck, with a side-opening glass door and the aft glass doors making it more of an indoor-outdoor zone. Although the wheelhouse is on the main deck as well, the captain may prefer driving from the open-air ambience of the flying bridge. Surely the owners and guests will spend a lot of time up there, along with other alfresco areas. The bow, for example, has sunning and seating areas, with the swim platform set up as yet another sunning area. Notably, Francesca II doesn’t have a beach club, since the transom houses the tender.
The owners should enjoy their maiden voyage this summer.
