The owners of a 171-foot (5-meter) Sanlorenzo will soon take delivery of another special boat. They’re awaiting the completion of a custom Limo Tender 27 from Wooden Boats.
Wooden Boats is an extension of the Studio Arnaboldi design firm, which dates back to 1984. It has delivered nearly two dozen custom tenders and collaborated with several international designers. Its models are all available for customization. (Check out the Wooden Boats tender with Bentley tail lights.) It premiered a Limo Tender 27 three years ago as a custom design and build. The owners of the above-mentioned Sanlorenzo liked the styling and carbon fiber construction approach, but tailored the rest.

For instance, according to Marco Arnaboldi, the head of Wooden Boats and the eponymous design studio, the owners wanted a fixed deckhouse. By comparison, the design that inspired their tender had a removable structure. The new tender has a sliding sunroof, too, for fresh air on beautiful days. When it’s quite hot, air conditioning keeps the owners and 10 guests comfortable while seated inside. Speaking of inside, “the interior furnishings, up to the individual armrests of the seats,” are in accordance with the owners’ design preferences, Arnaboldi says.
The nearly 25-foot-long (7.5-meter-long) tender has some helpful features outside as well. Her transom, for example, folds down to form a swim platform. It further contains a deployable swim ladder. That lets the tender double as a daytime watersports platform, not just for shore-to-anchorage transportation. Guests surely will enjoy the ride when seeking a day of swimming. Wooden Boats says initial sea trials confirmed a top speed of 37 knots. The Limo Tender 27 additionally achieved a cruising speed of 30 knots.

Powered by a single Mercury diesel stern drive, the tender can take everyone harbor hopping for more than a few days, too. The owners can expect a range of about 200 nautical miles at a still-swift 25 knots.
