With a strong background as a yacht chef and a restaurant school instructor, Titta Uoti-Väisänen elevates the onboard dining experience. As the founder of Superyacht Foodie, she’s teaming with Fraser Yachts for the Superyacht Foodie Experience. Consider it a Michelin-starred restaurant popup onboard your yacht, for one unforgettable night.
With Superyacht Foodie, Uoti-Väisänen connects yacht chefs, stews, and provisioning specialists with pioneering food and drink producers. She exclusively features companies that prioritize health and sustainability. Tasting baskets packed with samples get hand delivered to the yachts, so that the stews can introduce the owners and guests to them.
The Superyacht Food Experience kicks the concept up several notches. Uoti-Väisänen has connected with Kim Mikkola, a fellow Finnish native and Michelin-starred chef. For one night, they take over the galley to treat you and your guests to a 10-course tasting menu. Wine pairings are available, too. Additionally, lighting, scents, sounds, tablescaping, and service are all part of the evening. Your chef and stews can assist in creating the experience, or enjoy a well-deserved night off. Regardless, you and your guests later get to meet and speak with the chef, during after-dinner drinks.

A pop-up restaurant aboard your superyacht isn’t far-fetched. Some renowned restauranteurs have turned to e-commerce after shuttering their brick and mortars, for instance. Others, meanwhile, create pop-ups at events like Coachella, or just for the sake of it throughout the year.
Uoti-Väisänen got the idea for the initiative after speaking with a captain. He’d arranged for a Michelin-starred restaurant to shut down exclusively for his charter guests. However, they decided they didn’t want to go ashore after all. Over the course of a few months, she spoke with several captains and crews of busy charter yachts, plus weighed the feedback they received. “By day three or four of the charter, guests and especially regular charterers can feel they’ve done most things, they’ve been ashore, they dine in spectacular restaurants all the time, they’ve spent the day enjoying the ocean and just don’t want to dress up and go ashore again,” she says. “Having the Superyacht Foodie Experience booked mid-charter gives them something they have never experienced to look forward to.”

The first pop-up recently took place aboard the superyacht Curiosity, with the owners and their family plus Anais Jaber, the charter manager. “This is a truly custom-made, one-of-a-kind experience,” she says.
Mark Duncan, Fraser Yachts’ director of marketing and business development, shares, “In no small part due to Titta’s extensive experience in luxury yachting and her understanding of what our clients really look for,” it was a successful night. Furthermore, he says, Fraser “looks forward to presenting this unique pop-up experience to our charter clients around the world.”
