Yachts with interior volumes of 150 gross tons tend to be around the 115-foot (35-meter) mark. Ones with a beam around 22 feet (6.7 meters), meanwhile, tend to be just slightly smaller. The wallywhy150 yacht remarkably combines those advantages in a length of just 79 feet (24 meters), plus adds more unexpected benefits. You’ll get to experience them in person at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
When Wally revealed this new wallywhy motoryacht was in development last summer, the starting point was the wallywhy200. That series, which premiered in 2021, is 89 feet (27 meters) with extraordinary volume, equally surprising space outside, and surprising amenities for her size, too. In typical Wally fashion, chief designer Luca Basani further sought to offer styling unlike that of the rest of the market. The wallywhy150 yacht has a geometric, glass-dominated superstructure and quite high, somewhat rounded bow.

The master suite nestles within that bow, right up to the peak. When waking up inside, the feeling should be like floating directly over the water, due to that position, plus 270-degree views out full-height glass. In fact, Wally likens the suite to an “amphitheater of the sea.” While small superyachts increasingly are situating the owner’s stateroom on the main deck, it’s still not typical to see this on an entry-level model.
Since the series is semi-custom, you get a choice as to how to take care of family and friends. The standard layout below decks includes a twin cabin, a double stateroom, and a VIP. Instead, you can have two healthy-size VIPs. Regardless, all guest cabins benefit from the large glass panes running the length of the yacht, too.

Alfresco areas are where the wallywhy150 yacht really shows off differences, though. Firstly, the sundeck extends along a large part of the yacht’s overall length. Configure sunpads aft and a big seating area in the sunshine as well, with dining beneath the hardtop. Secondly, one deck down, the main aft deck has enough space for settees and/or watertoy stowage. Wally says you can stow a tender up to nearly 13 feet (3.9 meters). A center aft portion of the deck lowers as a swimming/toy-boarding platform, or another leisure level. Since the sliding doors leading into the saloon can open fully flush, the indoor-outdoor lifestyle is all the more enjoyable.
Since the first wallywhy150 yacht hit the water several weeks ago, sea trials have already confirmed her performance. The standard triple Volvo Penta IPS package allows a top speed of 21 knots. If you choose the optional, higher-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS package, top speed should be 23 knots.
