EDITOR’S NOTE, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024: Due to the merger of Outer Reef Yachts and Lynx Yachts, the Lynx Adventure 24 yacht is now the Outer Reef Adventure 780 yacht. Outer Reef Yachts is handling all sales as well. We have changed the model name accordingly in this article.
Intending to inspire yacht owners to go farther and enjoy more time onboard, the aptly named Adventure series has a new entry-level megayacht model. The Outer Reef 780 Adventure yacht is already in build, too, on spec for launch in 2025.
The name of the series lends insight into her looks and purpose. Firstly, the styling by Bernd Weel is bold and rugged. Secondly, she employs metal construction, a steel hull. Thirdly, the build and design team encourages owners to take their yachts all over the world, including to remote locations. Even with these, of course, the model has more megayacht-like features. Even the Outer Reef 780 Adventure yacht’s size plays into this. The LOA of nearly 79 feet (23.95 meters) means she’s small enough to anchor in small coves, especially along the French Riviera where officials increasingly have restricted access. Her draft of just over six feet (nearly 2 meters) is also shallow-water friendly.
Then there are the creature comforts. You can put two PWCs and a RIB up to 20 feet (6 meters) onboard. This is a surprising capacity for a yacht of her size. Additionally surprising is the beam, 22 feet (6.75 meters). That translates to ample lounges, dining areas, and more, both inside and outside. In fact, the house-forward styling creates a good amount of alfresco lounging, entertaining, and dining areas aft on the main deck. If you’d rather a bit more enclosed space, though, the Outer Reef 780 Adventure yacht can have a bit larger superstructure with an indoor formal dining area on the upper deck. Even more choices benefit the staterooms, including yours. Select either three or four staterooms, with the smaller total including a full-beam master.
Since she’s more of a luxury cruiser, the Outer Reef 780 Adventure yacht can house up to four crewmembers. But, the shipyard realizes some owners still like taking the wheel themselves with yachts of this size. So, that’s still an option as well. Anticipate a top speed around 12 knots, making the trip as important as arriving at the destination.
