The Heesen 50m Steel series has seen several incarnations and deliveries over the years, like Ocean Z, Arkadia, and Omaha. Re-imagined in a new 50m Steel FDHF series, as a Harrison Eidsgaard design teased last year, she’s starting construction next year as the Heesen yacht Project Grace. In the words of Heesen’s CCO, Mark Cavendish, she’s “a new 50-meter steel displacement motoryacht completing the Holy Trinity of Heesen 50-meter yachts.”
The shipyard revealed full details at a Monaco Yacht Show press event. The 164-footer (50-meter) incorporates the Fast Displacement Hull Form characterizing numerous previous deliveries. She further follows in her predecessors’ footsteps by having volume come in at 499 gross tons. However, her styling and interior set out on new paths, thanks to the Harrison Eidsgaard studio.
In fact, Heesen handed Peder Eidsgaard and the team a few examples of what the yard considers iconic style symbols. The symbols were pretty diverse, too, such as a Land Rover vehicle, a pair of Beats headphones, a Mont Blanc pen, and a Rolex watch. Furthermore, they chose words that they wanted the yacht Project Grace to embody. For instance, “elegance” was important, as was “nature.” Additionally, “flow and simplicity,” “confidence,” and “sporty” needed to be characteristics. Altogether, according to the shipyard, the symbols and words reflected modern tastes while simultaneously being concepts to carry well into future years.
Eidsgaard says the Heesen yacht Project Grace delivers a few important owner-guest and crew needs. Firstly, “We want to achieve the maximum possible lifestyle space for the guests while ensuring that the crew have the perfect working space to delivery a top-notch experience.” So, crew have proper stairways and hallways to get around efficiently. Alfresco leisure spaces further don’t impede work out on deck. Owner and guest amenities, meanwhile, include one of the longest sundecks in this size range. Indeed, about 20 guests can gather for meals up here. There’s also an intriguing coffee table on the sundeck. It doubles as an atrium skylight, bringing sunshine inside.
Yet another difference, Harrison Eidsgaard eliminated the fashion plates to increase window sizes and, in turn, the views. Overall, each area, from the main deck to the upper deck, creates a strong indoor-outdoor connection and flow, including via sliding windows in the main saloon.
With six staterooms for 12 guests, the Heesen yacht Project Grace also has a split-level aft deck. It’s a terrace-like area overlooking the infinity pool, and the sea beyond.
