With amenities like a pool and a bar for enjoying the end of a fun day on the water, a Columbus Crossover 42 yacht will be in an American owner’s hands in a few years.
Like her smaller sister, the Columbus Crossover 40, this new project blends long-range, explorer-like lines with abundant open deck space. The space is equally suitable for stowing big watertoys as it is for accommodating all guests for relaxation and entertaining. Naturally, so that the crew can launch and retrieve the watertoys, a davit is standard aft, too. In fact, its design makes it appear as if it is the starboard-side bulkhead. Although the owner of the Columbus Crossover 42 yacht intends to keep a big tender out on deck, so far the shipyard isn’t revealing the size. For perspective, though, her smaller sister can situate a 26-footer (8-meter) while still leaving space for a swimming pool.
Likewise, the Columbus Crossover 42 yacht has a pool, encompassing about 108 square feet (10 square meters). Loose lounges for sunning and conversation are nearby as well. The sundeck is yet another area for soaking up the rays and enjoying each other’s company, further featuring a bar (mentioned above). Notably, a table that can convert to a platform for another sunpad is on the sundeck as well.
Unfortunately, no details are available about the interior design, which Hot Lab is customizing with the owner. However, since the steel-hulled Columbus Crossover 42 yacht is for cruisers who want to pursue some far-flung adventures, Hydro Tec has engineered her for long range. Anticipate the best range to be upwards of 5,500 nautical miles at 10 knots. Traditional Caterpillar diesel power will also allow a cruising speed of 12 knots and top speed of a little more than 14 knots. She’ll be manned by a crew of nine and a captain.
Construction is already underway at the Palumbo Superyachts shipyard in Savona, Italy. (Palumbo Superyachts is the parent company for Columbus Yachts.) Delivery is set for 2025.
