In about two years’ time, the buyers of hull number five in the Tecnomar EVO 120 yacht series, currently in build on spec, will be enjoying their first holiday season onboard. The project is on pace for completion early in 2025, leaving nearly the full year to cruise both sides of the Atlantic.
The semi-custom series, which includes deliveries like hull number four, Lucy, is entirely in aluminum. Gian Marco Campanino of The Italian Sea Group, Tecnomar’s parent company, is the lead designer for styling as well as interior design. He drew inspiration from sports cars and other autos in giving the EVO 120 lots of head-turning curves and muscular appeal.

The looks pair well with the anticipated performance. Fitting for a sporty-style superyacht, the Tecnomar EVO 120 yacht series promises a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. Buyers therefore likely will be interested in harbor hopping, whether around the Med or among islands like those of the Bahamas. The yacht’s draft suits the shallow waters of the Bahamas, too, at just over four feet (1.3 meters). Still, if you prefer to take things a bit slower for covering some long stretches of coastline, you should be able to cruise 1,600 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Because the hull and superstructure just recently joined together, the interior is entirely yours to personalize. For example, overall, the series offers the flexibility for four staterooms, including the master suite, or up to five. With five cabins, naturally you can place your stateroom on the main deck. However, even with four staterooms, there’s still room below for a full-beam owners’ suite. Interestingly, for hull number five of the EVO 120 yacht series, The Italian Sea Group suggests just three staterooms. Instead of a fourth cabin, it recommends having a massage room.

Regardless, the in-house design team will work with you to arrange rooms and alfresco areas, plus custom-make furnishings, too. It has further suggestions for the layout based on what has proven to be popular with most cruisers. For instance, an infinity pool sits at the very top, on the sundeck. Big sunpads dominate the foredeck, with more sunpads available on the main aft deck, adjacent to a conversation/cocktail/dining area. This frees up the saloon for more relaxation and entertainment. Finally, up to five crew and a captain can have cabins forward below decks.
