Amor Jimenez Chito, a yacht designer, has long enjoyed using personal watercraft (PWCs), a.k.a. waterbikes. The problem, however, is that he can’t share the experience with his friends. They can’t all fit on one PWC. Therefore, he envisioned a version of a PWC for up to six people. This led to designing and building ONE 16, which turns your favorite craft into a boat for the gang to enjoy together.
The ONE 16 is a 16-foot-long (4.98-meter) hull that takes less than a minute to attach, quite literally, to your waterbike. Each transformative watertoy sees construction in Spain, tailored to your desires, too. For instance, you can pick the gelcoat color. Additionally, you can pick the deck tone. Further choices are the upholstery and even a bimini for a little shade.
Learn more about the ONE 16 in the July edition of the Megayacht News newsletter. Our newsletter, sent on a subscriber-only basis, provides information each month that you won’t find here on the website. It contains information you’re certain to want to know, too. For example, we detail a first-ever class-society-approved training course for crew to handle batteries. The course is online, too, for convenience. Since so many e-toys are in tender garages, and because yacht fires have dramatically increased, the training is having a positive impact. It further has input from multiple yachting professionals.

The Megayacht News newsletter this month additionally informs you about a new tool to evaluate your yacht’s total lifetime emissions. Plus, we have details on the Bering Life YouTube channel, which is inspiring far-reaching cruisers; details about a new sailing-superyacht service basin at Lusben; and the latest Mangusta Oceano 50 launch.
