Chartering a yacht is a vacation experience like no other. Chartering the yacht ALTA, meanwhile, provides an experience even more unlike any other. Guests who enjoy sipping cosmos and other specialty drinks can enjoy Yacht Life Vodka ALTA aboard. It’s only available on the superyacht, too. Furthermore, it is the basis for a cocktail exclusively served on deck.
This tailor-blended vodka has an interesting story. The owner of the 144-foot (44-meter) yacht, which has a weekly base rate of $185,000, wanted to give guests an even more memorable experience. Extensively refitting her with Patrick Knowles of Patrick Knowles Designs was the first step. Upon learning that Knowles additionally owned a beverage brand, though, meant taking things to another level.
Yacht Life Vodka ALTA is from .Yacht Life Vodka, the first spirit from Yacht Life Brands. The parent company of Yacht Life Brands is The Quintessential Yachtsman, belonging to Knowles. Knowles established the latter in 2022 based on his years of experience working directly with owners to ensure their yachts support their lifestyles. One of South Florida’s oldest distilleries produces the wheat-based vodka.
That same distillery created the Yacht Life Vodka ALTA recipe for the yacht ALTA. It further has a limited run of just 840 bottles. Equally noteworthy, Rob Husted, an award-winning bartender, created the Alta-nate Reality as the yacht’s signature drink. Since the only place anyone can enjoy it is the saloon bar, or the sundeck, or another place aboard, consider it a six-figure sip.
The charter guests are pretty satisfied so far. The same is true of the captain and crew. “ALTA is thrilled to partner with The Quintessential Yachtsman to offer charter guests an experience they can’t find anywhere else in the world,” says Capt. Iain Patterson.
Liliana Lopez, IYC’s head of charter management US, agrees. She cites Knowles’ design work as already elevating life aboard. “It only makes sense to continue to push the envelope and find exclusive ways of providing guests with a truly exceptional experience,” she says.
The yacht ALTA is currently chartering in the Bahamas. She’ll be available in the Caribbean starting this fall, through the winter.
