FunAir, the company behind the inflatable slides sending many a megayacht guest screaming with delight down off the sundeck and into the water (above), is taking its newest accessory, the Floating Island, to Europe.
While the Floating Island was first promoted during last fall’s boat-show season, it was only in the pages of a catalog. This is the first time owners and their crew can get a hands-on examination. The studio photos below give you a good overview of what the Floating Island looks like and what additional accessories can be added. As the “island” part suggests, it’s a stable, inflatable platform for a handful of people to spread out on inflatable lounges, all grouped around a dipping pool. The number of lounges can vary, and you can even ask FunAir to include inflatable side tables to hold the tropical drinks you’ll surely want to be enjoying while relaxing.
For further enjoyment, FunAir can attach additional accessories to the Floating Island. Its SeaStairs (see gallery below) and Jet Ski Docks are good options, for example. SeaStairs makes it simple to get into and out of the water. The Jet Ski Docks are just what they sound like: slips for water bikes, all in one unit.
Every FunAir accessory is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
FunAir has the Floating Island set up within view of the captains and crew lounge at the Monaco Yacht Show this week. For those of you not attending, never fear. FunAir is an American company and regularly exhibits at the Fort Lauderdale show, too.
And in case you’re wondering how the company got its start, it’s thanks to Lazy Z, which in 2009 wanted an inflatable slide to hook over the rails.
