The Maldives regularly lure cruisers, divers, and wellness-seekers from around the world. In fact, the island nation is widely considered a jewel in the Indian Ocean. Since visiting yachts, which typically drop anchor, are on the rise, a new real estate and resort development includes a marina. The Zamani Islands superyacht slips may be operational as early as 2026.

The spring of 2026 will see the first phase of the Zamani Islands development. Situated in the Maldives’ South Malé Atoll, it is just 21 nautical miles from the international airport. It also includes eight islands, with three resorts. A welcome pavillion (above) and private villas (below) are within the resorts, too, offering a variety of bedrooms and footprints. Overall, each villa has a handful of multi-level pools, a private movie theater/screening room, an equally private spa and wellness space, plus a gym and games area. Additionally, personal butlers can assist with a variety of needs.

Furthermore, each residence comes with a private berth in the Zamani Islands marina. The developer, Atoll Estates, touts it as the Maldives’ first superyacht marina. Other marinas in the country can accommodate megayachts, but are not purpose-built to prioritize them. Atoll Estates has not revealed how many superyacht slips will be in the 645,835-square-foot (60,000-square-meter) marina. Overall, though, it will have 120 berths for a variety of LOAs. It also will offer crew amenities, provisioning and maintenance services, and a yacht club.

Because the Maldives is 99 percent water, the developers are striving for low environmental impact. Renewable energy is a priority, for instance, as is a coral-relocation program. Yet another promise is a 70-hectate coral-propagation program after construction concludes.
