Codecasa Yacht Gioia Enjoying Maiden Med Voyage

The warm sunshine of the South of France is currently filtering down on the decks of the yacht Gioia. She recently departed Codecasa Shipyards, where she has been in build for the past few years.

Gioia is the latest delivery in the Codecasa 43 series, going by her hull number, C124, during construction. She’s actually the sixth delivery so far, having started construction in 2022. Interestingly, Codecasa decided to begin building her on spec, anticipating that a client would be attracted to two primary features. Firstly, the 141-foot (43-meter) LOA is an in-demand size. Secondly, the series incorporates a steel hull, a rarity but something several yacht buyers do seek. The strategy worked, with the current owners signing a contract in February 2023.

Although some previous Codecasa 43 customers have collaborated with the shipyard’s own design team for interiors, the owner of the yacht Gioia chose differently. In fact, he worked with Zepeda Design, as well as the Codecasa Design Team. Arrangement-wise, the interior is traditional, with four guest staterooms below decks and the master suite forward on the main deck. (Other previous owners in the series opted for Pullman berths in two of the staterooms, therefore bringing the total passenger count to 12.) Additionally, two saloons are aboard. No interior images are available of the design. Neither are décor materials. Codecasa does say, though, that the owner requested a hot tub on the sundeck and a healthy amount of alfresco space.

With her grey and white paint job, the yacht Gioia should capture attention in ports. She has the ability to visit a wide variety of them, too. Sea trials confirmed a cruising speed of 11 knots, the same speed at which she should see a range of 4,000 nautical miles.

With interior volume just below 500 gross tons, the yacht is run by a crew of nine, including the captain.
