The colorful charisma of Rio captivated media who were invited to take a tour of this 203-footer (62-meter) when she debuted nearly three years ago. Now it’s your turn to discover her fun, playful style with your own family, since she’s now the charter yacht Rio, too.
While watertoys and pools appeal to the small set, the entire ambience of Rio is family-friendly. If you have youngsters in tow, they’ll love the bold, bright pops of color from room to room. Additionally, they can make a game of spotting all of the animals in the décor. For instance, a toucan sits amid jungle greenery in a terrific hand-painted mural on the owner’s deck. A leopard is the same mural, too. Give the kids extra credit if they realize that the “R” in the charter yacht’s name is also an animal. Specifically, it’s a toucan in profile.

With seven staterooms aboard, the charter yacht Rio can accommodate a party of 12. A twin cabin conveniently has a pullman berth—and a bright green color scheme. Equally bright are two double staterooms and a full-beam VIP suite, all below decks, with tropical pinks among the cheerful colors. For friends or family who you want to treat to a special experience, there’s a main-deck, full-beam VIP, too. You, of course, should take the owner’s suite on the upper deck, especially since it has a private alfresco area forward. In fact, it has 1,238 square feet (115 square meters) of outdoor lounging space, including a pool.
Speaking of the outdoors, as a charter yacht Rio provides plenty of watertoys and gear. SeaBobs, Sea-Doo WaveRunners, flight boards, wakeboards, waterskiis, inflatable kayaks, and several towables are aboard. Furthermore, you’ll find fishing gear and diving gear. Arguably, though, the kids will have the most fun on the inflatable climbing pyramid and the inflatable trampoline. That is, if the grown-ups aren’t clambering all over them.
The grown-ups will appreciate further amenities as well. Particularly attractive, Rio has a massage area, steam shower, and a hammam in her beach club (below). Also, a beautiful blue-hued bar in her main saloon is a good place to enjoy pre- or post-dinner cocktails.
Rio’s charter rate, through her central agents at Northrop & Johnson, starts at $560,000 per week, plus expenses. She’s available in the Bahamas and the Caribbean through the rest of the winter.
