Excavation work is underway on the southwestern coast of Anguilla for Port Nimara, a resort with a megayacht marina. When it opens, nearly 120 slips will be available, several of them for yachts to 260 feet (79 meters).
The site sits between the well-known hotel Cap Juluca and the equally renowned Altamer villas. For further perspective, Port Nimara is seven nautical miles north of Sint Maarten. In fact, it’s just 11 nautical miles from that island’s international airport. Because Angulila’s current runway isn’t long enough for some private planes and commercial flights, the government plans to extend it. Part of the expansion additionally calls for constructing an FBO terminal. For owners and guests arriving via yacht, a customs and immigration facility will be at the marina.

Besides featuring 118 slips, Port Nimara will have crew facilities and a yacht club. A 62-room luxury hotel with its own beach and beach bar, 18 beachfront villas, and 45 hillside residences are coming, too. Of course, so are restaurants and shops. Nearby, meanwhile, owners and guests can take advantage of an 18-hole Greg Norman golf course, along with tennis courts.
The developers pledge to integrate sustainable design to protect the island’s ecosystem. No details are available, however.
Developers do say, though, that the Port Nimara marina should be ready in 2027. The hotel and beachfront villas, meanwhile, should be finished the following year.
