The conditions weren’t the best, but the yacht RoMEA returned to the place of her birth 10 years after delivery. The weather was stormy on February 11 as the superyacht made her way along the river to Abeking & Rasmussen.
Delivered by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2015, the superyacht is rich in details but not rococo in appearance. In fact, despite using upwards of 180 different surfaces throughout the décor, designer Terence Disdale created a serenely elegant ambience. It’s further incredibly tactile. For example, hand-sanded, grooved oak paneling covers some walls. The heavily lacquered dining table (more than 20 layers deep) is more than a place to set up meals.

Among all of the tactile experiences aboard the 268-footer (81.8-meter), however, the sole in the water-level spa wins the day. It realistically recreates random pebbles strewn across a riverbed, smooth and soothing underfoot.
The yacht RoMEA taps nearly all of your senses, really, in this spa. Sitting just off the swim platform, it contains a relaxing lounge, where the just-mentioned pebble sole flows. Additionally, the spa has a sauna and a cold plunge pool, with a steady temperature of nearly 45 degrees (7 degrees Celsius).
Yet another spa awaits on an upper deck—specifically, two levels up from the main deck. Guests seeking a nearly instant antidote to stress can indulge in a massage. Furthermore, hair styling and manicures are possible, too. Treatments all come with a view, through circular glass, plus access to an alfresco relaxation area.
With a private owner’s deck and main-deck guest staterooms, the yacht RoMEA will return to charter bookings after her yard period. Her weekly rates begin at €1.1 million (about $1.55 million at press time).
