In Italy, the city of Viareggio is renown for its annual Carnival celebration, as well as its beaches. It’s further the epicenter of yacht construction not just in Italy, but also in Europe. So many shipyards, suppliers, and service providers headquarter here, in fact, that they might just outnumber the cafes. It comes as no surprise, then, that a new Camper & Nicholsons Viareggio office has just opened.
Camper & Nicholsons provides a host of services, of course, including charter, brokerage, new-build oversight, and yacht management. The Viareggio office therefore will cater to a variety of needs. Given the number of yacht builders locally, such as Benetti, Codecasa, Mangusta, and the Next Yacht Group, new-build sales are among them. So, too, is refit service, especially considering some builders have refit and repair divisions. Project management is yet another focus for the new office, for all of the same reasons.
Notably, the new Camper & Nicholsons Viareggio office is weighing adding design services to its portfolio. A plethora of superyacht design studios are in the city and the region. Ultimately, the company views the office as a place for customers can come to initiate their yacht plans and/or hone them.
Paolo Cassani, Camper & Nicholsons’ CEO, says the office is a direct response to increasing new-construction and project-management requests. “The Viareggio office provides an enhanced framework to guide owners through every stage of the yacht-building journey,” he explains. “Leveraging our longstanding relationships with shipyards worldwide,” he continues, ensures stronger matches between a client’s vision and the ultimate execution. “Our goal is not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them,” Cassani adds.
Daniela Duck, the managing director for Camper & Nicholsons Italy, is heading up the Camper & Nicholsons Viareggio office. Overall, it marks the 14th international location for the company. Indeed, it complements locations in Monaco, Palma in Spain, London, and Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Palm Beach in Florida, among others.
