With weekly rates starting at €645,000 (about $726,000) this summer in Croatia and other Med destinations, the yacht Atlas is causing a stir among charter guests. This is the first time guests can step aboard following a comprehensive redesign last year.
Although the six-deck superyacht dates to 2007, she is dramatically different compared to her original 224-foot (68-meter) LOA. A subsequent owner lengthened her to her current 243 feet (74 meters), while preserving accommodations for 12 people. Yet another owner completely changed her looks throughout her decks last year. She now has an understated opulence, welcoming multiple generations for grand times together.
In fact, one of the most thoughtful features is a kids-specific stateroom. Plenty of yachts have twin cabins, but aboard the yacht Atlas, there’s no mistaking youngsters are in mind. The children’s stateroom has fun bunk beds—with a ladder, of course. Wisely, it further includes an en suite bath, as you’d expect.
Adults absolutely receive the royal treatment, too. For instance, for trips where a primary charterer is treating everyone else to the vacation, the master suite is extraordinary. Private balconies—his and her balconies, in a sense—make waking up and smelling the sea air the perfect way to start the day. Indulge in the hot tub in the en suite bath, surrounded by bookmatched honey onyx. Special friends or family members will feel extra special in the king-size VIP suite. The remaining staterooms are twins or doubles. Regardless, every cabin, including the VIP, has a hot tub.
Half the fun of chartering is exploring different destinations. Yet, the yacht is an essential part of each destination—really, an extension of it. To that end, some of the entertainment amenities can forge stronger connections. For example, the musically gifted can play “La Vie en Rose” on the saloon’s piano if you cruise the South of France. The yacht Atlas further has a private cinema, where you can watch any number of movies filmed in Europe. Dance the night away to world music in the disco, too.
Boasting an ample volume exceeding 1,900 gross tons, the yacht Atlas is the newest member of IYC’s charter fleet. Knowing how much gastronomy is a treasured part of each charter, IIYC’s brokers are quick to point out the onboard wine lounge. It has 10 climate-controlled wine cabinets and, better yet, is part of the formal dining area.
Burn off the calories from those gourmet meals on the plethora of watertoys. Hold on tight if you choose any of the towables, because you’re in for a thrilling ride. Try the Flite Flyboards, wakeboards, or PWCs, too. A Seabob and inflatable toys are further available, as are waterskiis and scuba gear.
With a 24-person crew, the yacht Atlas has availability in the Med through October. She then heads to the Caribbean for the winter.
