The Columbus Crossover series inaugurated a few years ago. With styling and naval architecture by Hydro Tec, each model combines long-range looks and capabilities with luxury amenities. From the Crossover 42, which already has hull number one in the water, to the Crossover 47, which has hull number two in build for a client, each has a proven engineering platform, too. In fact, the Columbus Crossover 48 yacht shares some of the 47’s characteristics. These include a bulbous bow, a 28-foot (8.6-meter) beam, and 9-foot (2.75-meter) draft. Additionally, she should be able to cover 5,000 nautical miles on a single tank of fuel.

The keel laying took place at the Savona, Italy shipyard belonging to Columbus Yachts’ parent company, Palumbo Superyachts. Construction will remain there for the next two years.
