Add sales support to the list of services that Feadship is providing for customers and their advisors. Despite its name, Feadship Resale is not a brokerage division in traditional terms. Rather, it’s the formal materialization of what that the shipyards already have been doing. It provides brokers who are selling Feadships with detailed information on the design and build.
Led by Arjen van Elk (left), Feadship Resale serves a few purposes. Firstly, it allows the brokers to be better educated. “We bring immense value to the brokerage table, thanks to our direct access to archives, the craftsmen who built the yachts, and the engineers who designed them,” van Elk says. Secondly, it better educates the eventual new owners who that broker represents. This is especially helpful for learning the history of the yacht, for instance. Simultaneously, since all specifications can be provided, it’s information crucial for maintenance and refit. Lastly, and equally importantly, it protects the brand.
Feadship Resale operates as an extension of the Feadship Refit & Services department. The six-year-old refit division lets customers come “home” for various works. Oftentimes, those works are performed by the craftspeople who built their megayacht, particularly appealing regardless of ownership stage. Similarly, Feadship Resale intends to extend support whether the owners are the ones who commissioned the yacht or the latest of several subsequent owners.

While currently, multiple Feadships are available through brokers worldwide, five are also with Feadship Resale. They range in age from recent deliveries to one upwards of four decades old. Monaco is the latter, a 124-footer (37.95-meter) from 1981. The 167-foot (51-meter) Double Haven just marked her 30th year of cruising last year. Savannah, Feadship’s first hybrid yacht, is with Feadship Resale as well. She saw delivery in 2015 and measures 275 feet (83.5 meters). Next is the unconventional-looking, Philippe Starck-designed Wedge Too, a 213-footer (65-meter) with wood planks on her superstructure (above). Finally, there’s Somnium (top), a 181-foot (55.2-meter) multigenerational yacht just delivered three years ago.
