She’s seen Greenland, cruised Canada and the Caribbean, and now she’s heading to Fort Lauderdale. Well, at least for boat show season. Turmoil, the 209-foot Royal Denship, will be the largest lady on display at October’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The take-on-the-world profile belies lavish comfort inside. For example, there’s an entire deck devoted to the owner (the late Gary Comer, founder of Lands’ End clothing company, commissioned her), featuring an aft master stateroom and a forward study (above) with a 180-degree view. Model ships, paintings of classic sailing yachts in turbulent seas, and even figureheads adorn various rooms like the saloon (below). Equally noteworthy, the crewmembers are practically treated like guests, given that each has his or her own room, with en suite facilities (and gold-plated fixtures), along the same hallway as the guest suites.
Turmoil = Tranquility
Turmoil will be docked at the Fort Lauderdale Grande hotel.
