Next August may seem a long way off, but talk with any boatbuilder that has a new megayacht scheduled to debut at that point, and they’ll probably tell you otherwise. That’s likely the case at Warren Yachts, but there’s also a good reason for the atmosphere to be charged with anticipation. That’s because the Brisbane, Australia, boatbuilder is working on its largest model to date, the 120 Sportyacht, which Warren hopes will achieve the same level of success as its similarly styled S87.
There are plenty of open yachts on the market, but the 120’s four-stateroom interior might convince some owners to give this sporty lady a chance. There’s a full-beam master just forward of the engine room (buffered from it by the en suite his and her head), accompanied by a twin-bed guest stateroom, a queen-size stateroom, and a full-beam VIP. There’s also a full-beam galley with dinette down here, opening up room on the main deck for the saloon and formal dining area.
Of course, open yachts are known for their speed and, well, open spaces. To that end, Warren expects this yacht to top out around 26 knots and cruise around 23 knots, thanks to twin 2,400-hp MTUs. And between the sunpad and seating area fully aft on the main deck and the bar and additional settee forward in the shade, you and a dozen (or more) of your friends can spread out.
