More shipyards are interested in offering maintenance and refit services these days, and International Shipyards Ancona (ISA) is no different. The yard recently announced the creation of the “After Sales and Refit” division, targeting not just its own motoryachts but also ones built by other shipyards-plus sailing yachts, too.
The division is headed by Alfonso Postorino, a megayacht-industry veteran who, among other things, helmed sales and marketing for Benetti and most recently served as business-development manager for Amico & Co. ISA is familiar territory, too, since Postorino headed the customer-care department in 2005, prior to joining Amico.
Besides having Postorino’s broad experience at their disposal, megayachts needing work will benefit from ISA’s facilities. There are three covered areas totaling 13,000 square meters (more than 139,900 square feet), plus workshops for aluminum, steel, and fiberglass as well as interior joinery. There are also 10 berths for yachts up to 90 meters (295 feet).
ISA has already had two visitors: the 269-foot Alfa Nero, which made a quick stop for some light maintenance, and the 148-foot Saudade, which Wally brought over for final outfitting before delivery.
