Given the increase in marina resort developments over the past few years, it’s no wonder that a yacht company has finally teamed with a property developer. Sunseeker London, the UK-based dealer for Sunseeker, has teamed with Ypres Rose Developments, a high-end home builder, for a proposed 17 such getaways in Greece. According to an article in Property Week, the joint venture is being called Ypres Rose Sunseeker and may even roll out in other countries around the world.
Besides including marinas and waterview residences, the resorts will have retail and commercial spaces. Lee Harrison, the managing director of Ypres Rose, wouldn’t reveal the exact locations of the 17 resorts. He indicated that they were “in negotiations or under review.” However, he did state that some would include just 50 berths, while others would feature 1,000 berths. He additionally said the values of the developments would range from €100 million to €200 million (about $140.1 million to $280.3 million at press time).
It’s additionally a logical move for Sunseeker London, which sells a variety of Sunseekers in Greece, a country that “offers some of the best boating in the world,” the brokerage’s sales director, Christopher Head, told Property Week.
