Feadship’s Royal De Vries yard received the “royal” designation just three years ago. However, the stamp of excellence that comes along with the title dates back far longer. In fact, it is quite an accomplishment in The Netherlands, where the shipyard sits, to receive it. Furthermore, the heritage of the Royal De Vries yard itself dates far back. It’s among the reasons why so many launches have been christened Gallant Lady, modern marvels like Predator have been built, and why its relatively new semicustom series is selling.
In this episode, we speak with Henk De Vries to get an overview of the yard’s custom contracts – including one 99-meter under construction – as well as its semicustom SL39 series. He also has some interesting thoughts on how long the global economic slowdown will last.
