Drawing inspiration from a project already under construction, H2 Yacht Design and Proteksan-Turquoise are promoting a slightly larger design.
This 72-meter (236-foot) megayacht is based on the 70-meter (230-foot) motoryacht that the companies teamed up for a few years ago. While the 72-meter is still a styling concept, not under contract, the build and design teams anticipate she’ll attract interest. It’s partly because two of the 70-meter projects are already under construction, and partly because the 72-meter will feature a slightly different layout but the same technical package.
Specifically, the 72-meter is intended to accommodate 10 guests besides the owners in six staterooms. A crew of 18, plus the captain, will attend to them and the yacht. While the 70-meter positions most guest staterooms below decks (except for a VIP stateroom and a staff cabin, both aft of the master on the main deck), the 72-meter groups friends and family together on the main deck. The owners, in turn, move up to the bridge deck, with balconies to each side to take in the views. The 12-meter (39-foot) beam should translate to comfortably sized relaxation and entertainment areas throughout the yacht. Other amenities include a spa area/beach club and a private cinema, both on the lower deck. And of course, there will be a tender garage, suitable for two 7-meter (23-foot) boats.
Performance-wise, Proteksan and H2 Yacht Design anticipate a top speed of 17 knots and a cruise speed of 15 knots, given two 2,447-hp MTUs. The 72-meter will therefore be capable of a 4,000-nautical-mile range at cruise speed.
