If a 42-meter (138-foot) megayacht speeding by at 46 knots sounds intriguing, meet Elizaveta. She’s the newest yacht built by AB Yachts, as part of its AB 140 flagship series.
AB Yachts, founded in 1992 in Italy, specializes in waterjet propulsion and has a few different series of fiberglass yachts from 17.7 meters (58 feet) on up. Materials such as carbon fiber and Kevlar are employed as well, for weight savings and strength. The deep-V-planing yacht Elizaveta is no different, featuring a mix of these materials in her hull and superstructure.
Triple 2,400-hp MTU engines (coupled to waterjets, of course, by MJP) produce Elizaveta’s impressive speed. AB Yachts engineered her to cruise at a high speed as well, reportedly 43 knots. Her 21,000-liter (nearly 5,550-gallon) fuel capacity should ensure extensive harbor-hopping, as should the 1.35-meter (four-foot) draft. When she does indulge, her owners’ party of 10 can have peace of mind knowing the yacht complies with RINA Green Star certification, reducing environmental impact. Elizaveta also complies with the MCA Code.
As an open-style yacht, Elizaveta emphasizes alfresco spaces, especially sunning areas. But they’re also ideal for entertaining at night. In fact, the megayacht has a sound system whose wattage rivals that of professional broadcast stations. It’ll pump out music to keep neighboring yachts rockin’ along with everyone aboard Elizaveta.
After the party’s over, the owners and guests get to enjoy an interior featuring abundant use of black and gold tones. Warm, dark woods like walnut and olive highlight spaces from the saloon to the five staterooms aboard the 8-meter-beam (26-foot-beam) speedster.
