Named for her 650 square meters (6,996 square feet) of relaxation space and four decks, the 650 Quadro is a new megayacht concept from Ned Ship Group.
The Turkey-based builder solicited input from megayacht owners and crew alike for the design. At 128 feet (39 meters), the Nedship 650 Quadro also fulfills Ned Ship Group’s desire to stay in the under-40-meter range without sacrificing amenities. Those include the entire lower deck devoted to the crew, including the galley, and three to five guest staterooms on the main deck. The owner gets an upper-deck master suite aft with a private alfresco area. These, combined with the captain’s stateroom being aft of the pilothouse, are akin to features found aboard much larger megayachts.
Additional highlights: a gym/theater forward on the main deck; side-launching tenders; and balconies off the saloon.
With an expected build time of 18 to 24 months, the Nedship 650 Quadro will feature fiberglass construction, with some elements reinforced with carbon fiber. Upon an owner’s request (the base price is €9.8 million, or approximately $13.6 million at press time), the yard will employ all-carbon-fiber construction. The lightweight approach should permit a 21-knot top end with twin 1,920-hp MTUs, though Ned Ship Group says it should climb to 38 knots with triple 2,600-hp MTUs coupled to KaMeWa waterjets. Cruising at a leisurely 11 knots, the Nedship 650 Quadro will reportedly see a 3,000-nautical-mile range.
