The latest semicustom Benetti is nearing completion at its Lusben, Italy shipyard. She’s a Classic 121 model, named FF1.
The Classic 121 is one of six fiberglass models from 93 to 145 feet LOA (28 to 44 meters, respectively) in the Benetti Class semicustom division. She draws inspiration from the original semicustom series that Benetti launched about a decade ago, though with a bit more modern styling, from frequent collaborator Stefano Righini.
Highlights of FF1 include a hardtop shading part of the sundeck. LEDs fitted along the edges of the hardtop should make the area a popular gathering spot at night, too. Of course, for daytime use, FF1’s sundeck features seating and sunning areas, a bar and barbeque, and a dining area. Inside, the owner chose the contemporary interior design option from François Zuretti. Oak and leathers are used from the skylounge to the lower-deck guest staterooms. The owner’s party of 10 are accommodated in two VIP staterooms, two traditional guest cabins, and an on-deck master suite. Given the 26-foot (8.18-meter) beam, the various spaces should have good elbow room.
Furthermore, FF1 will allow the owner and guests to select movies, control the blinds, and more via Benetti’s proprietary BEST. BEST integrates all entertainment, climate control, navigation, and surveillance data. A handful of wall-mounted and handheld touchscreen devices are connected to a central server onboard, and the owner or guests simply select the information they want. Since each yacht’s system is customized, only those services an owner truly wants will show up on each of the screens.
The ABS-classed FF1 will be delivered within the next several weeks. She’ll reportedly top out at 15 knots and cruise at 14 knots (based on 85-percent load), given twin MTU engines.
